Association of St. Francis de Sales "Salesbond"
St. Francis de Sales was one of those pioneers who thought that not only clergy and consecrated persons must strive for holiness,  but also lay people at all levels of society.

Association of St. Francis de Sales "Salesbond"

text-salesbond1In 1890 in Troyes, our Founders, Father Brisson and St. Leonie Aviat willed and established the spiritual movement “Association of St. Francis de Sales” for lay people.

Drawing its inspiration from the teaching of the Bishop of Geneva, principally from his “Spiritual Directory for  Daily Actions”, the Association addresses itself to all those willing to live the Gospel more faithfully. A Christian virtue to practise during Lent and Advent helps its members to prepare intensively for Easter and Christmas. An Oblate Sister presides the monthly gatherings and the annual retreat is a special time for prayer, reflection and sharing which gathers all the different groups. Their members not only commit themselves to the sanctification of their own daily life and to fulfil the Will of God, but text-salesbond2they also engage themselves to collaborate with the Oblate Sisters in their apostolate.

The Association has spread to all the continents where the Oblate Sisters of St. Francis de Sales are established, viz, Europe, U.S.A., South-America and South-Africa where groups meet in Keimoes, Onseepkans, Pella, Matjieskloof, Rietpoort and Vredendal.
